Lessons are available on a weekly basis. Beginner lessons encorage general riding skills and the fitness needed to control your horse. Advanced riders can choose from a variety of specialized disciplines, Dressage, Reining or Jumping. Lessons are offered private or group, with semi-private available if you arrange a riding partner. Students are matched with suitable lesson horses in keeping with your skills and goals. Horsemanship is taught with an emphasis on balanced riding. Lessons are geared towards safety, control and enjoyment for both horse and rider. Times are slotted every hour, with approximately 45minutes of that being actual riding time. Grooming and tacking is an expected part of each lesson, we encourage this quality ground time to develop an understanding of the horse.
Private lessons are strongly suggested for those wanting to pursue showing your horse . It is suggested and sometimes required that beginners start with private lessons due to the safely of horse and rider.

A committment to schooling through the winter months is what makes successfull show seasons in the summer. Those students working hard all year will be chosen to attend area horse shows with the lesson horses. Keep up the hard work everyone !
Wednesday mornings this summer we will be offering a beginner group horsemanship and riding class. This will be geared towards the younger riders, 5-10yr olds, that would like a great start around horses. Long pants and boots with a heel are all that is needed. Classes will run July-Aug at 10-11am for a cost of $200. Email now to register
Older riders that want to try lessons in a group setting for the summer are welcome to sign up for our hour class wednesdays at 11am. Group lessons are geared towards social fun and learning. Those riders with a desire to compete and show, need private lessons. $200 for this summer program, and space is limited.
We encourage all of our students to get out and show their horses in the summer. Showing keeps us working hard and give a chance to test your skills. Goal setting is always an important part of learning. Sportsmanship and Enjoyment always top our list when we are out in the horse community representing Ark Equestrian. As a barn, we attend and participate in many local area shows of varying disciplines. Come on out and watch or ride !
