 We are Dale and Marci Brown, together with our son Caleb we operate a small horse farm in South Western Ontario.   Our horse emphasis is on dressage and reining .    The two sports have much in common and the basic training of a supple , forward horse is at the heart of our schooling.    Many of our horses are Quarter Horses, and they provide a great partnership and bring a super work ethic to the team.

  The farm is  also home to the Chatham Kent Police Horses.   The temperment of our police horses is the most important.  They meet a strick selection criteria before going to work on the road. 

  We  also run a residential teen treatment home at the farm, and it is always a busy and exciting place to be.   The relaxed country lifestyle provides the perfect setting for horses and people alike to reach thier full potential.  Often time away from the city is just what societies kids need.  A different lifestyle, where the livestock befriends and depends on you.   The kids blossom when around the horses.   We feel very blessed to be able to lead the life we do.  For more information on our program, please feel free to contact us.

I encourage all my readers and riders to go out and purchase this months copy of Practical Horseman !

A Royal Success !

Ark Equestrian took to the road taking two horses to the prestigious Royal Winter Fair this year.   This was a combination of fun, stress, anxiety and laughter,  as these big events always are !  Stephanie Cook,   my staff and right hand gal,  once again brought her Stallion, Half Moon Romance to defend his Grand Champion title.  Which of course he did.  He is always such a gentleman who is glad to show his stuff in the ring !    Also this year we brought Vintage Match,  who is owned by first time horse owner and Ark client,  Erinn-Bre Sweeney.  Erin did a great job containing her nerves,  and getting her beautiful mare all ready for the ring.   Vintage was expertly handled  by Stephanie Cook,  to an exciting second place finish !   So a big congratulations to both owners and horses ! 

We had great support from many of the Ark gang who came along as grooms and assistants,  so thanks to Leila , Celia and Caleb.  An extra thanks goes out to Shauna who travelled all the way from Ottawa to lend her experience.   We couldn't have done it without you all.
